See the boat before it reaches the drydock.

Cantilever® puts every reading on the hull’s real geometry, so planners see condition where it is and scope the work package from the same record, before the availability starts.

The cost of finding growth work in drydock.

Growth work discovered in drydock costs roughly five times more than work identified in advance. For a submarine, every additional day in drydock costs about $1 million.

Submarine I-level maintenance periods
Of the 414 periods studied, 46% finished late.

The late periods added up to 2,525 days of delay.

Inspection and planning services for submarine availabilities.

Gecko provides three services to program offices, planning yards, and public shipyards.

Navic crawler running phased array ultrasonic testing on a pipe
URO Structural Inspections
Gecko provides outsourced structural and weld inspections performed to Navy URO standards. Each job is led by a Gecko team of NDT inspectors, engineers, and Navy subject matter experts using robotic-enabled phased array ultrasonic testing. Every indication is captured in an auditable file for shipyard review.

Screening for Availability Planning
During availability planning, Gecko screens special hull treatments and tanks so planners can scope the work package against the boat’s measured condition. Planners can add identified growth work before the ship arrives and remove planned work that isn’t needed.

Condition-Based Maintenance Planning
Cantilever®, Gecko’s software platform, combines Gecko inspection results, historical inspection records, and other Navy data sources into one model of the as-built and as-maintained condition of each submarine. Planners use that model to decide which work an availability needs and which work it can defer.

An integrated team for decision-ready insights.

Gecko delivers non-destructive evaluation of the structures critical to Navy submarine operation, including large vertical arrays, tanks, and hull systems. Each inspection team combines Navy subject matter experts, certified NDT inspectors, and the hardware and software engineers who built the tools the team uses. The team captures every reading to an auditable record that the shipyard and the program office can review.

Gecko’s submarine expertise spans both sustainment and manufacturing.
